As part of our 100th year celebrations, we are launching the Union Bank Centenary Art Challenge. We have partnered with the Guild of Professional Artists of Nigeria and One Draw, a competitive platform for artists across the country, to engage the Nigerian creative community, particularly undergraduates and professional artists to deliver their unique version of our iconic stallion.
1. The Competition Begins
Candidates are to register and apply between June 1 – June 30 and submit their artwork online before the 31st of July.
In August, 200 entries will be selected from the pool of electronic entries nationwide. Applicants who emerge successful at this stage will be expected to provide life-size artworks and have them delivered to the nearest submission centres spread across Lagos, Benin, Enugu, Port-Harcourt, Uyo, Kano and Abuja.
2. Selecting the Top 100
In this stage, the top 100 entries will be jointly selected by members of the jury. All applicants will receive necessary information on the status of their entries via email and/or SMS notifications. All 100 shortlisted finalists will receive an honorarium of ₦50,000 and a certificate of participation from Union Bank.
We’ll notify applicants whose entries do not make it beyond this stage to pick up their art from submission centres.
3.And the winners are…
In September, we’ll announce the first place winners in the professional and student categories, and also reward two runners-up in the professional category.
The competition runs from June – September 2017
Candidates are to register and apply between June 1 – June 30 2017.
All registered candidates are to submit their works between July 1 – July 31 2017.
The top 200 will be announced in August and the finalist announced in September
The organizers reserve the right to use the images of the submitted artworks for promotional and publicity materials across all media as long as it is related to the Union Bank Centenary Art Challenge.
Union Bank reserves the right to the art works which will be in the permanent collection of the bank and exhibited on the website throughout the celebration of the centenary. This will be viewed by Union Bank’s high net worth clients and art enthusiasts.
The organizers reserve the right to determine how the finalists would be selected whether by jury or third party vote.

2nd:,N500,000.
3rd: N250,000.
Student: N250,000.
Remaining at final: N50,000
