Call for Cryptic’s Artist Residency programme opportunity

Opportunity Are you a Visual Artist working with sound or a Sound Artist working with visual multimedia?
Cryptic’s Artist Residency programme, delivered in partnership with Cove Park, Argyll & Bute, provides the time and support for artists to focus exclusively upon their own practice, engage with artists working in different fields or with different approaches to their practice.

Since 2012, Cryptic has curated an annual creative artist residency programme at Cove Park focusing on music, sound and multi-media with over 40 artists benefitting from the programme. Aimed at West African visual artists who work with sound and Sound artists working with visual multimedia, this residency offers time, space and freedom. The emphasis of Cryptic’s residency programme is on individual research.

Though the residency is not geared towards a final presentation of work, all artists-in-residence take part in an informal showing of the work-in-progress, studio visits and/or public discussions at the end of their residency.  The selected artist will be one of 9 artists in residence at Cove Park. Whilst in Glasgow the artist will be expected to immerse themselves in the local cultural networks. Artists are both international and UK based. All artists work in a similar medium and collaboration and peer learning is encouraged.
