What are the Power Play Awards?

The Power Play Awards recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of remarkable women and the men who uphold the importance of supporting and empowering them in the workplace. These individuals demonstrate how a mutually supportive environment can help support great business outcomes across all parts of the LNG value chain.

 The key objectives behind these awards are to shine a light on the newcomers and smaller players in the LNG value chain, in particular, encouraging nominations from resource holders, buyers, partners and FSRU providers. We invite all players in the LNG business to submit nominations for these awards which are open now!

How many Power Play Awards are there?
There are three Power Play Award Categories, with finalists and one winner in each category.

The three categories for the 2020 Power Play Awards include:

The Rising Star - Outstanding Young Professional
The Rising Star Award celebrates one woman, 35 or younger, who is excelling early in her LNG career. She shows tenacity, passion and positive energy through her already noteworthy contributions in the LNG sector. Known by peers and mentors as part of the next generation of LNG leadership, she’s someone to watch.

The Vanguard - Outstanding Leadership
The Vanguard Award honors a woman or man who through their words, actions and positive energy, inspires those who work with and around them. This individual has a collaborative leadership style that builds bridges and finds solutions. They carry a sense of purpose in all that they do, whilst maintaining a commitment to ethical work practices with the aim of being a responsible global citizen.

The Rainmaker - Outstanding Business Impact
The Rainmaker Award honors a woman who has delivered outstanding business results, showcasing the value women bring to the LNG value chain. Colleagues might note her unrelenting positive energy or unique ability to advance a business goal, but she likely describes herself as someone who thrives on success. Qualifying events may include, for example, the close of large deal, launch into a new country, a new installation, a cost-saving initiative or an innovative commercial deal.

What do award winners receive?

While the Power Play Awards are largely about bringing industry recognition to those shaping the present and the future of LNG, each winner will also receive a custom-designed award. This will be an award which the winners can proudly display and others will aspire to attain.

Additionally, winners and finalists will be recognized in the following ways:

• Profiles listed on the Power Play Awards website
• Recognition in all media and promotion, including official press releases
• Graphics to display on email signature and social media profiles

To the extent a winner is unable to accept any or all of the award due to international or local laws or regulations, Power Play Awards reserves the right to substitute an award consistent with such legal limitations

Who are the sponsors?

Committed to recognizing collaboration and inclusion, across the entire LNG Value Chain, ExxonMobil is the founding sponsor of the Power Play Awards and has enlisted support from a cross-section of leaders in both the public and private sectors to seat judges and promote the mission of the program. It is the ExxonMobil vision for these awards to elevate the entire LNG value chain, separate from any one organization or company.

What are the nomination requirements?

The nomination period for the Power Play Awards opens on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, and closes on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. EST followed by community voting. The nomination process requires that the nominator completes the appropriate nomination form and submits the completed nomination form(s) by the nomination deadline.

Anyone can submit a nomination including employees, associates, friends, family, partners, customers or yourself. All nominees must be employed in any discipline within the “Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) value chain,” including exploration, extraction/production, storage, liquefaction, transportation and regasification or professional services.

Are there entry fees?

No – there is no cost or associated fees for the nominations

Finalists will be named and notified in late July and winners will be announced in September 2020.
