How to Fix Errors in the DSTV and GoTv Decoder (e16, e30, e32 and GotvE16, GotvE30)

E16 - SERVICE IS CURRENTLY SCRAMBLED

Cause of Error E16

Transmission might be temporarily suspended on your Smartcard.

How To fix it:

Press MENU on your remote control, then press 4 to check your Mail Messages. If you have a notification from us saying that you need to pay your account, then payment needs to be made before your services can be reactivated.


E30 - CHECKING THE SUBSCRIPTION STATUS

Cause of Error E30:

The Smartcard has been unable to connect to the satellite transmission to verify your subscription status.

How To fix it:

Check that the cables from the satellite dish are securely connected to the correct inputs on the back of your decoder. Once you have checked all of the connection cables, switch off the power to your decoder at the wall plug and wait at least 10 seconds before switching it on again and allowing the decoder to reboot. 

E32 - YOUR SMARTCARD IS NOT SWITCHED ON OR ACTIVATED, OR THE CHANNEL THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO VIEW MAY NOT BE PART OF YOUR PACKAGE.

Cause of Error E32:

Your Smartcard is not switched on or activated, or the channel that you are trying to view may not be part of your package.

How To fix it:

If this error is appearing on a channel that you should have access to, you can reset it online using the form above or alternatively you can reset it via USSD by dialling *668# - please do not change channels when you do the reset in order to allow your decoder to receive the necessary update.
